Houping Xiao is a tenure-track assistant professor in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. He is a primary faculty with Institute for Insight. He got his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He also holds a Bachelor of science degree in Statistics from Beijing Normal University. His research interests lie primarily in data mining and machine learning, especially for large-scale heterogeneous data. He is generally interested in deep learning, text mining, and optimization and their applications in business and education.
